Vote for the 2025 “Teacher of the Year”
In their pursuit of educating and inspiring children, America’s teachers often face obstacles created by public education’s bureaucratic system. Independent Women’s report, “Give Teachers A Break: Cutting Red Tape to Unleash the Potential of America’s Great Teachers,” revealed how teachers’ hands are often tied. The sheer amount of red tape they are forced to navigate has made teaching more difficult than it needs to be—and less effective and less rewarding than it should be.
On the heels of this report, Independent Women launched its search for the 2025 Teacher of the Year to celebrate America’s most admired educators who shape lives and inspire futures. After reviewing the plethora of nominations, finalists were announced on December 1:
- Gabriela Tagliamonte, Wilson Middle School in Ohio
- Megan Tucker, Hillsboro Charter Academy in Virginia
- Monica Morton, The Bolles School in Florida
- Rosella Sena, Santo Niño Regional Catholic School in New Mexico
The finalists are highlighted in IW Features’ December “Champion Women” article: Champion Women: Teachers Who Are Inspirations for Educators Everywhere
Now, it’s time for you to cast your vote among our finalists for who you think should be Independent Women’s “Teacher of the Year.” The winner will be announced on January 19, 2026.
