Amber Schwartz serves as Executive Vice President of Independent Women, where she helps lead the organization’s strategic growth, operations, and mission-driven work. As Independent Women’s lead integrator, she works across departments, most notably Investor Relations and External Relations, to ensure the successful execution of programs, outreach initiatives, and organizational priorities. 

Amber is responsible for Independent Women’s flagship fundraising events, including the Awards Gala, which has become one of Washington’s premier gatherings of leaders in public policy, business, media, and philanthropy. 

Before joining Independent Women in 2013, Amber worked at The Heritage Foundation, where she held a variety of roles focused on outreach and educational initiatives. She also served as Director of Donor Relations at the Maryland Public Policy Institute. In addition, she is a volunteer faculty member with the Leadership Institute, helping train and mentor future leaders.

She lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with her husband and two teenage children. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, including their Labrador Retriever, Sunny, and rescue cat, Stormy, who keeps everyone in line.
