Technological innovation has unleashed new paradigms for work, learning, shopping, receiving medical care, and connecting with people across continents. At the same time, it has created concerns about privacy, security, censorship, incivility, the spread of extremist views, mental health, and worker displacement. Government policies must seek to provide protection for individual rights, but without undermining innovation and the free flow of information.
