The right to vote is one of our most basic and cherished freedoms. In order for the government to derive legitimacy from our elections, Americans must have confidence in the integrity of the electoral process. This means that our election systems must be free from fraud and outside interference and that every vote must be counted in an accurate and timely manner in the jurisdiction in which it was cast.
