Union Membership Is At Record Lows
- Although unions helped achieve important worker protections in the early 20th century, increasingly, Americans have been rejecting them. Today, only 10% of American workers belong to a union.
- Americans increasingly value worker freedom over union representation, preferring to negotiate their unique employment terms directly with their employer rather than through a middleman, and independent contracting has become more common.
- Unions are highly politically active, and throw their support almost solely behind Democratic candidates and policies, which also repels potential union members.
The DSA Is Strategically Infiltrating Unions
- The largest socialist organization in America, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), aims to collectivize major economic drivers such as energy, transportation, and private property in a communist economic system.
- The DSA uses the Rank-and-File strategy to place socialists in positions of power throughout the private sector, who then agitate workers to adopt socialist positions and support candidates.
- The DSA targets sectors that have a broad and cascading effect on the economy when disrupted, such as logistics, health care, and K-12 education.
Through the DSA, China Is Influencing Unions
- The DSA is currently forging ties with China and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to build allies against American capitalism.
- Lavish trips funded by the CCP have given Democratic Socialists a rosy view of Chinese communism, and over a dozen DSA members have pledged support to China and Chinese socialism.
- Americans deserve transparency about who unions align with, the potential for foreign interference from China, and the true goals of the union.
