WASHINGTON, D.C. – As Russia escalates its attacks on Ukraine and diplomatic efforts continue between President Donald J. Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, one of the war’s most horrific crimes remains largely unnoticed and underreported: the systematic abduction of tens of thousands of Ukrainian children. Through on-the-ground investigative reporting in the premiere episode of “Faith in War,” Meaghan Mobbs, director of Independent Women’s Center for American Safety and Security, exposes the human cost of Russia’s campaign to tear children from their families and follows the extraordinary efforts fighting to bring them home, reunite with their loved ones, and rebuild their lives.

Mobbs, a combat veteran and mom of two daughters, serves as lead investigator in the first episode, “The Stolen Children,” of a new five-part “Faith in War” documentary series from FourthSign Productions, debuting August 2 across multiple platforms. 

“Russia’s theft of Ukrainian children is an assault on the bond between a parent and child—the primal promise that a child will be known, protected, and brought home. Yet nearly half of American voters remain unaware of the scale of this crime or know little about it,” said Meaghan Mobbs, director of Independent Women’s Center for Safety and Security. “That is why we must keep telling their stories. These children are not abstractions, statistics, or bargaining chips. They are sons and daughters who belong in the arms of the people who love them, and bringing them home is one of the clearest moral tests of our time.”

Building on Independent Women’s work to elevate awareness of the human cost of Russia’s war in Ukraine, the documentary gives viewers unprecedented access to the conflict’s darkest humanitarian crises. It follows the stories of Ukrainian children kidnapped under Russian occupation after the 2022 full-scale invasion. Through intimate storytelling and firsthand accounts of families, Mobbs explores the enduring power of faith, hope, and the community sustaining them in the face of unimaginable loss.

This summer, Independent Women’s Center for American Safety and Security hosted a high-level, one-day summit, “America’s Adversaries: The Russia Reality,” analyzing the evolving threat Russia poses to the United States and the broader West.

Independent Women also released a new foreign policy poll showing broad bipartisan concern about Russia’s actions against U.S. interests, and strong support for policies that project American strength and deter adversaries. The poll found that ninety-two percent (92%) of voters expressed outrage that Russia has forcibly taken and relocated hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian children to Russia.

“Our polling makes one thing clear, standing up to Russia fits squarely within an America First agenda,” said Mobbs.
