WASHINGTON, D.C. — Moms read every label. Every ingredient. Every price. But when it comes to health care—one of the most important decisions a mom can make for her family—prices are often hidden. As the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement continues gaining momentum and challenging the status quo in Washington, Independent Women today launched its new national advertising campaign, “MAHA Moms,” calling for the first step toward making America healthy again: transparency.

The “MAHA Moms” campaign underscores a reality millions of families face: while moms carefully plan doctor’s appointments, medications, treatments, and procedures—the most important decisions a mom can make for the health of her family—prices are hidden. The result is financial uncertainty and surprise medical bills that leave millions blindsided.

“‘MAHA Moms’ reinforces a simple truth: you can’t improve what you can’t see,” said Victoria Coley, senior vice president of communications at Independent Women.

“Families shouldn’t have to guess what health care will cost,” said Dr. Monique Yohanan, senior fellow for health policy at Independent Women. ”When prices and information are hidden, families pay the price—with their wallets and their health. Price transparency restores trust and gives patients the ability to plan, compare options, and avoid surprise medical bills.”

The ad concludes with a clear message:

Moms deserve transparency.

Families deserve honesty.

America deserves better.

To Make America Healthy Again, we have to make health care honest again.

“Transparency is the first step to a healthy America. It must be the foundation of meaningful affordability reform,” Yohanan added.

The “MAHA Moms” ad will run on major networks and streaming services whose audiences are overwhelmingly female, including Lifetime, Bravo, Food Network, and HGTV.

MAKE HEALTH CARE HONEST AGAIN:

Independent Women’s campaign builds on actions taken by President Donald J. Trump and theU.S. Department of Health and Human Services to restore trust between patients, providers, and the federal government.

President Trump’s “Great Healthcare Plan,” announced earlier this year, places price transparency as a critical pillar of the plan. In his February State of the Union address, President Trump touted his administration’s “maximum price transparency” healthcare agenda.

Healthcare decisions are among the most consequential choices families make, and transparency ensures that those decisions are guided by knowledge—not guesswork.

That’s why Independent Women believes that MAHA = Transparency. Transparency must exist from start to finish—not just in the food labels or prescription drugs, but across the entire healthcare system.

TRANSPARENCY IS KEY TO MAKE AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN:

The “MAHA Moms” campaign builds on Independent Women’s broader policy, advocacy, and public education efforts to address America’s cost-of-living crisis and put patients—not bureaucrats or middlemen—at the center of American health care.

Earlier this year, Independent Women’s “Fat Cats & A Rigged System” national TV ad highlighted how opaque pricing drives up costs and puts patients last. Notably, 96% of Americans support healthcare price transparency, making it one of the rare issues with overwhelming bipartisan agreement.

Independent Women has also published extensive expert commentary on healthcare price transparency, advocating reforms that lower costs without expanding government control or increasing taxpayer spending.
