WASHINGTON, D.C. — On the heels of President Trump’s Great Healthcare Plan announced yesterday, he continues to deliver on his promises to Make America Healthy Again. Today, President Trump held a rural healthcare roundtable with other administration officials where he discussed plans to help overlooked rural communities receive the largest federal investment in history.
Independent Women applauds the Trump administration for its continued efforts to ensure all Americans have the opportunity to be healthier by advancing policies that prioritize transparency, personal choice, and access to quality care.
Dr. Monique Yohanan, Independent Women Senior Fellow for Health Policy said, “President Trump’s rural health agenda puts real money behind real access. His plan will strengthen hospitals, expand the workforce, and modernize care in communities that have been overlooked for decades.”
The Rural Healthcare Transformation Program, created under President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts, allows states to apply for funding for rural communities to sustain these vital healthcare providers in the communities they serve.
For years, rural communities have been overlooked on some of the biggest policy decisions in Washington. Rural healthcare has struggled to retain workforce, has been crippled by failing programs, and has lacked funding for critical infrastructure. With the Rural Healthcare Transformation Program, President Trump is spearheading the revival of rural healthcare.
This program also allows states to utilize these funds towards preventative and chronic disease management, paying healthcare workers, and starting an initiative for more hires in rural communities.
