WASHINGTON, D.C. – A new report from Independent Women finds that America’s path to prosperity lies in energy abundance. Released as President Trump advances his bold vision of American energy dominance, “Energy Abundance: How America Can Lead the World in Energy Production While Creating a Better, Cleaner Environment,” outlines how unleashing America’s energy potential can drive economic growth, strengthen national security, and deliver real environmental progress.

Energy abundance, the report explains, prioritizes human flourishing over scarcity, embracing reliable energy sources rather than subtracting energy options. Author Gabriella Hoffman, director of Independent Women’s Center for Energy and Conservation, details how expanding domestic energy production will meet the current rising demand while also protecting the environment by limiting energy dependence on foreign nations—like China, Iran, and Russia—that have lax regulations.

“Energy security and environmental progress is achievable in the U.S. when driven by market solutions and true conservation practices,” Hoffman said. “The federal government must take the necessary steps to cut red tape, impose fewer burdensome regulations on industry players, and allow equal access to leases on public lands and waters.”

In the forward of the report, Mandy Gunasekara, former Independent Women Center for Energy and Conservation director and Chief of Staff of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency during the first Trump administration wrote, in part:

“By maximizing reliable energy sources and rejecting unfounded hysteria about fossil fuels, the U.S. can reduce global environmental degradation while fostering economic prosperity. This report is a clarion call to pursue energy policies that strengthen America’s economy and environment, proving that we can thrive without sacrificing either.”

“Adopting an energy abundance posture is not only America First, it’s practical,” said Hoffman. “All 50 states should create their own energy abundance framework to help meet rising electricity demand and lower energy costs.”

Key topics covered in the report include:

  • The variety of energy policies across the U.S. on both the federal and the state level;
  • An overview of the abundant energy sources today and suggested reforms to support energy addition policies and practices;
  • The shortcomings of an overreliance on renewable energy; and
  • How energy abundance is incompatible with net-zero policies.

This report calls for an embrace of energy abundance through:

  • Rolling back green subsidies;
  • Ending state renewable portfolio standard mandates;
  • Rejecting net-zero policies and global climate agreements, and;
  • Opposing carbon taxes.
