WASHINGTON, D.C. – Independent Women today announced that detransitioner Luke Healy has joined its ambassador program, becoming the first male to do so.
Healy, whose story of being groomed into identifying as transgender was first told by Independent Women Features (IW Features), the grassroots storytelling and original journalism arm of Independent Women, in its groundbreaking “Identity Crisis” documentary series, is now stepping forward to expose what he called the “perverse and harmful disorder” driving the mutilation and deception of children in the name of so-called “gender-affirming care.”
“As the first male to be invited to join the Independent Women ambassador program, I feel a great privilege and responsibility to assist in this prestigious organization’s fight against gender ideology,” said Luke Healy. “Our country stands at the junction of perilous crossroads, and it is upon all of our heads to eradicate this perverse and harmful disorder once and for all. America’s children and our world’s children are entitled to a future without fear of the mutilations, deceptions, and perversions visited upon them by the powers and principalities which have for so long escaped accountability.”

Luke Healy, now 24, shared his journey of how he began identifying as transgender at 13, being persuaded online, affirmed by therapists, and placed on a path toward medical transition. Despite intense pressure, his mother Michelle Rodgers, a nurse of over three decades who knew better, resisted, advocating for his health and questioning the medical system. Now as an Independent Women ambassador, Healy speaks out to warn others and expose the harms of the gender medicine industry so no other boys or girls fall prey like he did.
This announcement comes on the final day of Independent Women’s Protect Minors from “Gender-Affirming” Abuse regulatory comment drive to mobilize the public to tell their own stories and demand the Federal Trade Commission’s crack down on deceptive medical practices targeting children. The deadline for public comment is at 11:59 p.m. EDT today—September 26, 2025.
With the addition of Luke Healy, Independent Women’s Ambassador Program now includes some of the most prominent detransitioners in the country, including Prisha Mosley, Soren Aldaco, and Claire Abernathy. Together, these ambassadors are rewriting the narrative—and demanding the abuse of minors stop.
“Independent Women’s Ambassador Program is home to fearless voices whose stories have challenged preconceptions, ignited movements, and driven policy change,” said Brianna Howard, Independent Women’s ambassador manager. “They step into the spotlight with raw courage, confronting wrongdoing and exposing harm head-on. It’s an honor to work with detransitioners as they take on the most destructive medical scandal targeting America’s youth.”
Through Independent Women’s Ambassador Program, survivors like Luke Healy receive the platform, training, and support to amplify their stories and shape the national debate. The program is designed to make policy personal—detailing the real, human cost of bad policy and demonstrating the benefits of good policy.
Independent Women’s Features’ “Identity Crisis” series has become a national platform for detransitioners and their loved ones. With raw honesty, the series has revealed the graphic realities of “transition”—from double mastectomies gone wrong, to clitoral growth, to trapped milk ducts, and hairy bodies.
“Identity Crisis” stories are sparking a cultural reckoning and driving legislative reform and litigation for justice across the country. Read and watch more stories from this series here:
