New Mexico’s Gender Policies are Harming Children

Parents have been shut out, silenced, and gaslit by elected officials implementing harmful gender policies in their schools, sports, and hospitals. Some have even lost their children to gender ideology.

Many New Mexico parents see the corruption. Do you see it too?

Your story deserves to be told.

The Identity Crisis report examines how law in New Mexico goes directly against public opinion. The overwhelming majority of New Mexicans believe in safeguarding parental rights from ideologues who seek to “transition” minors behind their parents’ backs and in protecting minors from irreversible elective medicalization in the name of “gender transition.” And yet, flying in the face of public opinion, HB 7, the Reproductive and Gender-Affirming Healthcare Act, passed in 2023, mandates that public bodies—including schools—protect access to gender transition, including social, hormonal, and surgical transition. Currently, eight school districts have implemented dangerous polices that could harm children and leave parents in the dark:

  • Albuquerque
  • Gadsden Independent
  • Gallup-McKinley
  • Las Cruces
  • Los Alamos
  • Moriarty-Edgewood
  • Rio Rancho
  • Santa Fe

Worse, the public has very little awareness that the law is even in place, with only 15% of New Mexicans saying they are very familiar with the law and 54% having never heard of it.
